Get ready for an exhilarating tale of golf prowess and an epic comeback attempt!
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am delivered a thrilling finale as Collin Morikawa emerged victorious in a tightly contested battle. With Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy hot on his heels, Morikawa's win was far from certain.
Starting the final day two strokes behind Akshay Bhatia, Morikawa's slow start at Pebble Beach Golf Links seemed to set the stage for an unpredictable outcome. However, the two-time major champion fought back, moving into the lead with a series of impressive gains.
But here's where it gets controversial...
Scheffler, who was eight strokes behind at the start of the day, mounted a historic comeback. With an eagle and a birdie in the first few holes, he quickly climbed up the leaderboard. His aggressive playstyle led to a few bogeys, but he managed to stay in contention.
And this is the part most people miss...
Scheffler's round-of-the-day 63 put him in a tie for fourth alongside Tommy Fleetwood. His eagle finish, after a spectacular iron shot, left him just two strokes behind Morikawa.
Morikawa, despite a bogey on the par-three 17th, managed to birdie the par-five last, securing his first PGA Tour title since 2023. He finished on 22 under, ahead of Min Woo Lee and Sepp Straka.
McIlroy, the defending champion, signed off with an impressive eight-under 64, claiming a share of 14th place.
So, who do you think deserved the win? Was it Morikawa's resilience, Scheffler's comeback, or McIlroy's consistent performance? Let us know in the comments!
